KPOP Charts 2017, 7th Edition: My Top 10

Well, I would like to tell you that this month was a tough one for me to make decisions. Too much great songs for the month of July on the KPOP industry. However, for now, my Top 10 Songs for you guys to check out.

  • KoKoPop by EXO

Like always, EXO’s comeback is one that the fan are constantly waiting for. For this project, they decided to go for a reggae sound, which came out incredible for all of them. The song "KoKoPop", like all their tracks, came out with an outstanding choreography, that captivates the fans and want to be emulate by the males. The song reached top positions on the Billboard World Digital Song, the ITunes Worldwide Albums, and the local music charts.

  •  Love by PSY ft. Taeyang

Even though PSY's album was release back on May, it was in July that they released the music video. For his new album, PSY had made great collaborations with artist from the same label (Bobby, G-Dragon, etc.). However, what you say about these in particular with Big Bang's Taeyang? His incredible vocals goes great with the particular way of singing of PSY. This "love song", is accompanied with an incredible choreography from Parris Goelber, which was also the director of the MV.

  • Red Flavor by Red Velvet

I am actually not a fan of Red Velvet, but I have to admit of liking three of their songs. "Ice Cream", with that creepy sound at the begging of the song, "Dumb, Dumb, Dumb", with that incredible catchy chorus, and now "Red Flavor", which also has a catchy beat. This project mark their comeback since "Rookie" back on the beginning of the year.

  •  Artist by Zico

The first single of the second mini-album from the Block B member and leader. As a way to motivate people to not be afraid of expressing themselves, Zico writes to his fans to take their space and speak up their mind and art. The second single of the album, "Television" titled "Anti" link thru a T.V on the music videos. Like always, "Artist" shows Zico's swag and cool vibe.

  •  Fruity by Hyolyn ft Kisum

This song was produced by the duo Groovy Room, and is the first solo project from Hyolyn after SISTAR's disbandment. The song is groovy track perfect for the summer, which goes great with Kisum rapping skills. Along the MV you can catch the girls drinking ice tea, from a brand that Hyolyn is the representative.

  •  Five by A Pink

A Pink made their comeback with the track "Five", which is a cheerful/cute track. You can hear the similarities of the vive with the song "Mr. Chu", which it is great, full of sweetness, and catchy. The group has won multiple number ones on different music shows, and has topped a great amount of music charts.

  •  Gettin’ By by One

The laid-back track "Gettin’ By" is one of two tracks from his debut project "One Day". The rapper One first made public appearance on the hip-hop reality/survival show, "Show Me The Money 4", back in 2015. It was not only his rapping skills that got attention, his visuals made everybody swoon and fall for him, as well his charming and sweet personality.

  •  Gucci by Jessi
For her new mini album, "Un2verse", rapper Jessi has made it clear that she is carefree and a little above all whit the track "Gucci". On this project, she has collaborated with various artists and has topped on the Billboard's World Album Chart. The rapper first came famous on the hip-hop reality/survival show, "Unpretty Rapstar" on 2015.

  •  Dinosaur by AKMU

The track "Dinosaur" it's an unexpected comeback from the YG sibling duo. This song, written by Lee Chan Hyuk, talks about the fears that he encounter as a child. Along the MV you watch them hunt for the "Dinosaur" and bumping into some magical events. The track is their first EDM attempt, which for me has come out good with their great vocals.

  •  Sunday by Groovy Room ft Heizi and Jay Park

Groovy Room is a producing duo from H1GHR Music that has released their album "Everywhere" on the end of July. This album has multiple collaborations with artist from different music scenes, especially hip-hop and R&B artists. It was the next day of the release of the album that it came out the full music video for the song "Sunday", performed by hip-hop artist Heize and Jay Park.

Hope you guys comeback next month for more incredible music. Thanks and share!!

When The Youth Reads: A Sarah Dessen Overview

I’ve been reading for the past years novels from Sarah Dessen. The first time I got a grip of one of her books was when I was on my second year of college, which is six years ago. At that time I was going through a tough time in my life, with family issues, and for some reason her book comforted me. That’s what’s great about her books, you can relate to them and they speak to you in ways that you couldn't imagine. First, I’m going to tell you about Dessen and it would follow the books that I like the most from her twelve ones. You can look on her page for the other titles and more details about her.One thing that you can find interesting is that she tends to go back to scenarios (Colby, Lakeview, Last Chance. etc.) and also characters of another book (Just Listen, What Happened To Goodbye, Once and For All, etc.), the best way to get this kind of unexpected meetings can only be nice if you read all of her books (which I think is a great idea). Hope you like what I have for you on this post and come back later for more great things.

Born June 6, 1970, Dessen is an American writer who lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dessen dropped out of Greensboro College in Greensboro, North Carolina, and later took some classes at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, graduating with highest honors in Creative Writing. She is the recipient of the 2017 Margaret A. Edwards Award from the Library Association for outstanding contribution to young adult literature for her novels: Keeping The Moon, Dreamland, This Lullaby, The Truth About Forever, Just Listen, Along For The Ride, and What Happened to Goodbye. Sarah Dessen’s novels deal with the change in youth’s personality as they grow up or when they confront different events on life. The general themes that run through her novels comprise isolation, emotional distance among family members, and a progressive change in people’s personality. The 2003 romantic comedy-drama film How to Deal starring Mandy Moore, Allison Janney, Dylan Baker, Patrick Gallagher and Trent Ford was based on both That Summer and Someone Like You.

This Lullaby (2002)

Consequently, love is something that Remy doesn't believe exists. One day she meets Dexter, a messy musician, which she doesn't but she slowly falls for him. She doesn’t want to care about him but what happens when you can’t control your heart and the one you thought could be a wrong decision ends up to be the best one you could make.

The Truth About Forever (2004)
Macy is still recovering from the sudden loss of her father. Since he died during one of their habitual morning runs, Macy gives up running and keeps all of her feelings to herself. This results in her being unable to comfort her mother. Her boyfriend, Jason, is currently away at Brain Camp. At the end of one of their e-mails she tells him that she loves him, he replies and thinks it would be for the best if they took a break until he returns in August. Upset and hurt, Macy goes for a ride and sees a van for Wish Catering, which catered her mother's party, applies for the job and end up getting it. After all, she ends up liking her new job and her new coworkers, where she meets the artistic Wes who also has lost his mother and has a criminal record.

Her mother has Macy helping her with preparations for a party, but eventually has to have Wish Catering assist her. Macy realizes that there's more to life than just sticking to the rules and trying to please everyone around her. She realizes that she's the only one in control of her future, and she chases after Wes. Wes and Macy become a couple, with her resuming her running habit with him. At the end of the book, Wes later joins her and her family at the beach house that has now been renovated.

Just Listen (2006)
Annabel Greene is a girl who has it all—at least, that's how it seems on TV commercials. Annabel's life is far from perfect. Her friendship with her best friends Clarke and Sophie ended bitterly, due to a few events that tore them apart. This left her alone and friendless at the beginning of a new school year. Her sister Whitney's eating disorder is weighing down the entire family, and Annabel fears speaking out about her past and her lack of enthusiasm for modeling. In the midst of her isolation, she meets Owen—a music-obsessed, intense classmate who, after taking an Anger Management class, is determined to tell the truth. With his help, Annabel may start facing her fears—and more importantly, speaking the truth to herself..

Along For The Ride (2009)
Auden West is a smart girl who didn't get the chance to enjoy the activities young children often got to do (such as riding a bike) when she was a child. After being accepted into Defriese University and graduating high school, Auden is not sure on how to spend her summer. After receiving a package from her brother Hollis who is touring Europe, she decides to take up her father's offer to spend her summer before college in the beach town of Colby. When she arrives, she hopes she can have some bonding time with her father. However, she is disappointed to find out that that will not be the case, since her father spends all his time working. Now she is helping her stepmother, Heidi, with her new baby and on Heidi's boutique called Clementine's.
While on Colby Auden keeps bumping into Eli, owner of a bike shop on the shore. Eventually they find out that both of them have nocturnal habits. They start hanging out with each other when nightime comes, to eventually become a couple.

What Happened To Goodbye (2011)
Mclean Sweet  lives with her dad, Gus Sweet. Mclean hates the fact that her parents are divorced and that her mom married her dad’s favorite basketball team-Defriese University's new coach, Peter Hamilton. Mclean despises her mom for leaving their family. She and her father have moved three times in the last two years because of her dad’s new job at EAT, Inc. With each of the moves, Mclean decides to take on different personas. Lakeview is their fourth move. Mclean is quizzed as to which persona she would pick––whether it would be the “the perky rah-rah girl, black-clad drama queen, or student government joiner.” But as she begins school, she forgets about all those personas and starts to be herself and attracts new friends, plus a new romance. Her dad receives a new job offer in Hawaii, but for the first time the move isn't as easy as before.

Saint Anything (2015)

The book is about Sydney Stanford, a teenage girl who believes she is invisible, existing only in the shadow of her older brother Peyton. The novel opens just as Peyton is sentenced to prison for a drunk driving accident that left a young boy paralyzed. For most of Sydney’s life, her parents have focused on her older brother and his mistakes.  Her mother lives in a world of enabling and denial and her father complacently follows along.
In order to escape, Sydney transfers from the private school she and her brother attended to the local public school, hoping that the ghosts of her brother’s sins won’t follow her there. It’s at Jackson that Sydney meets people who actually see her and include her, who are unwilling to skirt around her family’s tragedy (and the one that it caused) but are willing to accept her, anyway. With that comes a paradigm shift in Sydney’s life that was long overdue.

Once and For All (2017)

For Louna, working on the weddings industry has made her a little bit cynical about the happy ending love story, but that is not the only reason for her behavior. Her last relationship, only boyfriend, did not ended well and not because they wanted to. Ambrose is a womanizer, a good looking guy with cocky personality that didn't have any trouble flirting with girls. What happens when these two had to start working together for Louna’s last summer at Natalie Barrett Wedding, her mother's business, and they make a bet?
