KPOP Charts 2017, 5th Edition: My Top 10


It's time for a new list!! Here are my top 10 songs for the month of May. Hope you enjoy it and check them out!!



·         Wonder If by Yong Jun Hyung ft Heize

For this project, the member of "Highlight", Jun Hyung composed both singles. "Too Much Love Kills Me" and "Wonder If" are part of his digital single project title as the last one. This last track was released on May 2nd, and is a slow/ R&B song, which is a love letter with Heize replaying to it, both artists wrote the lyrics for it.



·         Real Love by Henry

As part of the 2nd Edition of SM Station, Henry wants to find "Real Love". The song was written by Henry, and the MV gives us a retro look to the 90's and the cuteness of the couple.



·          Lullaby by Onew ft Rocoberry

The leader of the SM group, SHINee, Onew has team up with the indie band Rocoberry for the SM Station track, Lullaby. The band wrote the lyrics of the track, which is a conversation between lovers.



·         I Luv It by PSY

Since the release of PSY's new album "4x2=8", he took over the charts. He released two MV's the same day, "I Luv It" and "New Face", on the first one you could catch a glimpse of the Japanese singer Pikotaro, who rose to fame with the song PPAP. But what it was more intriguing and amazing, was the appearance of the top actor Lee Byung Hun, to which PSY has confessed begged him to appear on the MV. The album topped a great number of charts and the song "I Luv It" won several #1 on different broadcasts, even though he was banned on some stations.



·         Signal by TWICE

After two years active, TWICE has gained the recognition of the KPOP industry as the most influential new girl group. "Signal" is the first song produced by J.Y. Park for the group, which has a hip-hop vibe but all the bubbly of the group, the girls even told on interviews that their company President helped them with the choreography of the title track. The track has won on several music shows and they even top on Billboard's World Albums.



·         Suddenly by Roy Kim

Kim Sang Woo better known as Roy Kim was born on July 3 of 1993, he is a singer/songwriter who won Superstar K4. He made his debut on 2013 with the album “Love Love Love”, from which he won best newcomer at the 15th Mnet Asian Music Awards and the 2014 Golden Disk Awards. His new album “Blossom” was released on May of this year, is about coming of age and adulthood, specially about love and relationships. The song “Suddenly” was written and composed by him, which talks about the pain after the breakup and overcoming from it.

 

·         Wine by Suran ft Changmo & 1+1=0 by Suran ft DEAN

Suran is a singer/songwriter and record producer who debuted as part of a duet called Lodia, in 2014. This year she has released her first min album titled “Walkin”. Previously she has released a couple of singles, and has collaboration with other artists. For this project, she has teamed up with various artist as featuring and production.

a.       “Wine” is a song produced by BTS’s Suga and the collaboration from rapper Changmo.



b.       “1+1=0” features one of the hottest hip-hop artist right now on South Korea, DEAN. 



 

·         Shangri-La by VIXX

The group has made their comeback with an incredible track that takes you in to that sound that distinguish them, with great moves on their choreography. This track, blends the west sound with the eastern, to drive the attention of the audience. But contrary to other songs from KPOP this one doesn't have that English hook, they emphasis on the eastern poetics.



·         Bling Bling by iKON

After almost two years, iKON has finally made their comeback with the singles "B Day" and "Bling Bling". Both tracks are part of the project "New Kids" which begins with one title "Begin". These songs take us back to what makes this group so good, their great hip-hop vibe and incredible energy. The track "Bling Bling" talks about what the group has accomplished and how they have raised on the industry.



·         Too Much by Loco ft DEAN & Da Da Da by Loco ft Hoody

The album by rapper Loco, Bleached, have incredible tracks. That is why it was so difficult for me to choose one from it. Instead I decided to show you the two tracks that I like the most from it.

a.       "Too Much" was produced by Gray, and the vocals from it are from singer/rapper DEAN.



b.       "Da Da Da" was wrote by both artist, Loco and Hoody. But on this track, we get to hear the vocals rather than the rapping from Loco.
